A debate featuring the two Republican candidates in the race for Lehigh County executive will take place at 7 p.m. on April 10 at Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 Elm St., Allentown.
Mike Welsh, a former Allentown School Board member, and Roger MacLean, former chief of the Allentown Police Department, will address issues facing the county.
The public is invited and audience questions will be part of the format.
The debate was organized by and will be moderated by Brad Osborne, who hosts "Good Morning Lehigh Valley" on Sunny 1100 on WGPA radio. Osborne is a former Lehigh County commissioner and South Whitehall Township commissioner.
The county executive post is now held by Democrat Phil Armstrong, who is prevented from running for a third consecutive term by the county Home Rule Charter.
Josh Siegel, who is a state representative in the 22nd House District, is the only Democratic candidate.
Justin Simmons, a former state representative, dropped out of the Republican race in March.
