Help, I still haven't filled out my mail-in ballot!
It’s Tuesday, voting is under way and you still haven’t gotten around to filling out your mail-in ballot. Now what?
There’s still time to get your ballot in or, in the alternative, vote at the polls. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.
Mail-in ballots must be received by 8 p.m. Ballots received via the mail the next day — even with a Nov. 5 postmark — won’t be counted.
All ballots must be enclosed in the yellow secrecy envelope before being sealed in the outer envelope with gray lettering and purple trim. Secrecy envelopes cannot have any identifying marks. Outer envelopes must be signed and dated.
What to do
You can bring your filled-out, mail-in ballot to drop boxes as long as they are still open. Not all are open until 8 p.m. You can also bring it to your county election office. (Lehigh’s is located at the Lehigh County Government Center, 17 S. Seventh St., Allentown; Northampton’s is at the Northampton County Courthouse, 669 Washington St., Easton.)
You can bring your uncompleted ballot to your polling place, surrender it and sign a declaration to vote. If you forget to bring your uncompleted ballot to the polls, you can vote provisionally – meaning your vote won’t be tallied until verified. To find your polling place, click here.
