Help, I still haven't turned in my mail-in ballot
Also, how to find your polling place and get help if you are denied the right to vote
It’s election day, voting is under way and you still haven’t gotten around to filling out your mail-in ballot. Now what?
There’s still time to get your ballot in or, in the alternative, vote at the polls. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. on Nov. 7.
Mail-in ballots must be received by 8 p.m. Ballots received via the mail the next day — even with a Nov. 7 postmark — won’t be counted.
Lehigh County voters should note that when the county sent out mail-in-ballots initially, instructions said to place the ballot in a white secrecey envelope. The secrecy envelope is yellowfor some voters. The return envelope, where the secrecy ballot is placed, is white.
Drop boxes
You can bring your filled-out, mail-in ballot to drop boxes as long as they are still open. Not all are open until 8 p.m.
In Lehigh County, the only place you can bring a mail-in ballot until 8 p.m. is the Lehigh County Election Office at the Government Center, 17 S. Seventh St., Allentown.
In Northampton, the Elections Office, 669 Washington St., Easton, is open until 8 p.m. for ballot drop offs on Nov. 7.
Also on election day, the Bethlehem City Hall drop box box will be open until 8 p.m.
Voting in person
You can bring your uncompleted ballot to your polling place, surrender it and sign a declaration to vote. If you forget to bring your uncompleted ballot to the polls, you can vote provisionally – meaning your vote won’t be tallied until verified.
