Registering to Vote
Deadline to register: Oct. 23

Who is eligible to register to vote on Nov. 7:
Be a citizen of the United States for at least one month before Nov. 7.
Be a resident of Pennsylvania and the election district in which you want to register and vote for at least 30 days before Nov. 7.
Be at least 18 years of age on or before the day of Nov. 7.

Vote by Mail
You must be registered to vote to request an application to do so. You can request a form now. Absentee voting and emergency absentee voting are also available.

Last day to request an absentee or mail-in ballot: Oct. 31
Deadline for receipt of absentee or mail-in ballots: 8 p.m. Nov. 7:
Deadline for receipt of military, overseas absentee ballots: Nov. 14
Under Pennsylvania law, voters must return their own ballots. However, voters with a disability can fill out a form and have someone else do it. Click here for the form.
Voter registration
Democratic voters continue to outnumber Republican voters in Lehigh and Northampton counties, but Republicans and people who don’t affiliate with either party or a minor party gained slightly in each county since the May primary, according to state voter registration data as of Aug. 28.
In Lehigh County, total registration increased by 463 to 240,804. The breakdown: Democrat, 111,751 (a loss of 219); Republican, 83,531 (plus 184), no affiliation/minor parties, 45,522 (plus 498).
In Northampton County, total registration increased by 227 to 217,876. The breakdown: Democrat, 95,602 (a loss of 189), Republican, 80,074 (plus 146), no affiliation/minor parties, 42,200 (plus 270).
