Lehigh County executive candidates to debate on Oct. 8
The two candidates running for Lehigh County executive will participate in a debate at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 8 at Lehigh Carbon Community College.
The forum between Republican Roger MacLean and Democrat Josh Siegel will take place in LCCC’s Community Services Center, 4750 Orchard Road, Schnecksville.
The event was arranged and will be moderated by Brad Osborne, a former member of the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners and South Whitehall Board of Commissioners.
Osborne held a forum on Monday with candidates running for township commissioner in South Whitehall.
Next week’s event is open to the public and will go until 7:45 p.m. Audience members will be permitted to submit questions.
MacLean is a former police chief of Allentown who also served on Allentown City Council. Siegel is the state representative in the 22nd House District and a former member of Allentown City Council.
The election is Nov. 4. The county executive seat will be open in 2026 because incumbent Democrat Phil Armstrong is prevented by the county’s Home Rule Charter from seeking reelection. The post will pay $95,000 next year
