Dear Armchair Lehigh Valley readers,
We appreciate your loyalty and know you’ve been following Armchair Lehigh Valley’s coverage of the 2024 elections. We wanted to take a moment to say thank you for reading and to let you know we are once again participating in the Institute for Nonprofit News (INN) annual fundraising match campaign.
Last year, our first as a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we raised more than $15,000 thanks to generous supporters and the INN match. This year, we’re launching our campaign on Giving Tuesday, a day to contribute to causes that you care about. We hope Armchair Lehigh Valley will be one of those organizations.
Armchair LV continued to keep Lehigh Valley area voters informed on election news throughout 2024, covering local races in Northampton and Lehigh counties. In this time where artificial intelligence is more prevalent, we are proud that we do our own research and do not use any information generated by AI.
In 2025, your donations will allow us to grow our reporting on county, school board and municipal elections. We will use these funds to expand our roster of freelance writers and photographers, covering legal fees, liability insurance and miscellaneous charges associated with accessing voter registration data, campaign finance reports and court records.
If you believe in the mission and growth of Armchair Lehigh Valley, we would be honored to have your support by making a $15 donation. Whether you choose to donate or not, we are committed to providing free campaign and election news and remaining unbiased in our approach.
Because of our INN network membership, Armchair Lehigh Valley is eligible to receive donor match funds through their annual NewsMatch campaign. This means all donations made between today, Dec. 3, and Dec. 31, 2024, will be matched one-to-one, so a $15 donation is doubled and becomes $30 for Armchair Lehigh Valley.
Your gift will help us cement Armchair Lehigh Valley’s future as a reliable, viable news outlet in a region that has seen too many layoffs at newspapers and scaling back of coverage in recent decades. If you believe, as we do, in the critical need for local news, we hope you will choose to support our work today.
Thank you for being a loyal reader,
Katherine Reinhard & Robert Orenstein,
Co-directors and co-founders of Armchair Lehigh Valley
