TV stations to air forums with 7th Congressional District candidates
Two local television stations will air forums featuring incumbent Democrat Susan Wild and Ryan Mackenzie, her Republican challenger in the 7th Congressional District race.
Blue Ridge Communications TV-13 will host a live forum at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15. In addition to its cable channel, Blue Ridge will air the broadcast live on its YouTube channel.
“Business Matters,” a local business show on WFMZ’s Channel 69, will air a two-part forum that was recorded on Sept. 6.
The first part will air at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16 on Channel 69. The second will be shown at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 23. “Business Matters” also posts its shows online.
“Business Matters” is hosted by Tony Iannelli, president and CEO of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Wild, a former lawyer from South Whitehall Township, is seeking her fourth term in office. Mackenzie of Lower Macungie is a longtime state representative serving in the 187th House District.
The 7th Congressional District covers all of Lehigh, Northampton and Carbon counties and a tiny part of Monroe County. The Nov. 5 matchup is considered a toss-up by national political analysts.
