Tim Walz to campaign for Harris-Walz ticket in Lehigh Valley on Saturday
Gov. Tim Walz, Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris’ running mate, will make a campaign stop in the Lehigh Valley on Saturday.
The exact time and location have not been announced, but Walz is expected to be in the Allentown/Bethlehem area sometime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to a post by PA Dems Harris for President.
Walz, the current governor of Minnesota, is in the midst of a multistate campaign blitz.
He has zeroed in on Pennsylvania, a key swing state with 19 Electoral College votes. Last week his stops included Lancaster, Pittsburgh and Erie. The Lehigh Valley is considered a swing area as well.
USA Today/Suffolk University polls released on Monday show Harris, the current vice president, leading former President Trump, the Republican candidate, in Pennsyvania 49-46%.
Harris has a 5 percentage point lead in Northampton County (50%-45%) and a 4 percentage point lead in Erie County (48%-44%), the polls found.
Trump is expected to visit the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Bucks County on Sunday, according to media reports. No other details are available.
Walz’ stop follows on the heels of a Sept. 7 visit to the area by Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff for a “Latinos con Harris” rally.
